Plans to let universities decide the content of A-level courses have been given a mixed reception by teachers and universities.
Education Secretary Michael Gove raised concerns that A-levels were failing to stretch pupils, in a letter to Ofqual, the exam regulator for England.

Colombia's Farc rebels have released their last 10 police and military hostages - some of whom have spent 14 years in captivity.
They were collected from the jungle by a Brazilian military helicopter and flown to safety.

Pope Benedict XVI has criticised the 50-year-old US trade embargo imposed on Cuba, as he ends a visit to the island.
The Pope called for greater rights in Cuba, saying he wanted a society in which no-one was denied basic freedoms.
