A protest against the dilapidated nature of the main road linking Ablekuma-Manhean-Afuaman and Oduman-Nsakina in Greater Accra on Monday morning left hundreds of commuters in those areas stranded.
The protesters, including commercial drivers parked their vehicles and refused to pick passengers.
Others, including landlords and tenants blocked portions of the main road to prevent vehicular movement.
Happy FM’s Joseph Nii Ankrah reports that, this is not the first time residents in the area have embarked on such an exercise.
Last year, they took part in a massive demonstration which lasted for about 12 hours.
As early as 5am, the protesters burnt used car tyres at some vantage points of the road.
Owners of private vehicles and motor cycle riders were also prevented from driving through.
