A middle aged Ghanaian man who prefers for his identity to remain unknown has given details on how a woman he had intentions of marrying lied to him and duped him of his money.

Narrating the incident, the man said he and the lady in question had been in a relationship for close to 4 months only for her to one day announce to him that she was pregnant.

In an interview with Rev Nyansa Boakwa on Happy 98.9 FM’s NsemPii he said, “I was very excited about the news because as a young man I felt I was ready to settle down to start my own family”.

He stated that because of the nature of his work he did not have the time to go with his fiancée to the hospital so he kept giving her money because he trusted her.

“I one day suggested to her that I had been able to save up some money for us to buy a piece of land for us to build a house since we were now about to start our family. Possibly if we have more money from what’s left we can use that to plan our marriage”.

He mentioned that to his utmost surprise, the lady refused and said the suggestion he made was not important. To her, what was important was, “for me to give her the money to take good care of herself. And because I didn’t know what I was getting myself into, I gave her the money”.

He went on to say that, few days after giving her the sum of money, “she disappeared from home, did not return any of my calls which got me very worried”.

It went on for a week until, one of the girl’s friend’s saw him and told him the truth. “She told me it is a scam her friend is into. She wasn’t pregnant she just goes around lying to innocent men and duping them of their money”.

Moving on he stated that, the girl’s friend sympathized with him and decided to send him to her current location and upon arrival, “she had no choice than to confess and apologize”.

“This act of hers has prevented me staying in touch with any other woman because, I fear history might repeat itself and I want to prevent that”.

He ended by saying, “I’ll rather remain single than get involved with another woman who will dupe me and take me for a fool once more”.
