Video: Nana Addo calls off referendum; blames NDC for u-turn; lack of broad national consensus

The convener for Good Governance and Advocacy Group, Listowel Nana Poku has described the president as a confused person following the President’s direct withdrawal of the referendum on politicizing local governance which was set for December 17.

He was speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show hosted by Kwame Afrifa Mensah.

“As an astute lawyer and a past member of parliament who served for 12 years, he knows what the law says. But it seems he is very much confused and he is either deceiving Ghanaians deliberately or he is unaware of his deceit”, he jabbed.

According to him, the president has set a bad precedent in this regard as he has introduced tyranny into governance.

He expressed his disappointment in the President’s decision concerning the referendum by stating that “as Ghanaians, we must bow our heads in shame because our president does not learn”.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on 1st December called off the the December 17 referendum stating that there was an absence of national consensus amongst key stakeholders and the populace.
