The Minister for Communications, Samuel Nartey George has announced that there will be an increase in the data bundles of all network providers in Ghana.

Effective July 1, 2025, the Minister announced that MTN will offer 15% percent more in all of their data bundle packages.

The Minister at a press conference on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, also announced that all users on the Airtel Tigo and Telecel networks will benefit from 10% more in all data bundles.

The measures are “Airtel Tigo Ghana – 10% on all data offerings, Telecel – 10% in all data bundles currently offered by the network, MTN will offer 15% in all data bundles currently offered by the network.

He added that because the telcos operate in a free market, he cannot single-handedly, order them to reduce data prices.

“The Minister cannot unilaterally order telcos to reduce data prices”, he said.

“I’m committed to an engagement-led style of leadership,” he said. He added, “The recovery of 8 years of mismanagement can’t be completed in four months.”
