1D1F policy will create unprecedented employment opportunities – Coordinator

The National Coordinator of the One-District, One-factory policy initiative, Gifty Ohene Konadu has said that the 1D1F policy will create unprecedented employment opportunities.

Madam Konadu charged Ghanaians to ignore the baseless propaganda by critics of the policy and members of the opposition Nationa;l Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to her, the Nana Addo led government will fulfill the 1D1F policy promise.

Speaking in an interview on a Accra based radio station Madam Konadu said, “One district, One Factory is a policy which seeks to create permanent jobs and not temporal. The promise that Nana Akufo-Addo made is a promise that he is fulfilling and he will continue until all the districts have at least a factory each. So I urge Ghanaians to ignore all those propaganda talks because it will work.”

She also assured Ghanaians that, “I’m assuring you all that every district with raw materials will have its own factory by the end of 2020.”

The aim of the policy, according to government, is to ensure that Ghana’s ongoing industrialisation drive spreads to every part of the country, as opposed to the hitherto situation where the vast majority of manufacturing facilities are located in the five largest urban areas, namely Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Takoradi, and Tamale.
