Ghanaian Journalist AJ Sarpong who co-hosted the red carpet at the just ended 2018 VGMA’s in an interview with Happy FM 98.9mhz Showbiz Xtra at the event listed her Five best musicians in Ghana.
Playing it safe, she did not leave out any of the artists who had been nominated for VGMA best artist year. She, however, gave her reasons why she has chose those artists even though most of you will have different opinions.
These are her list and reasons in no particular order:
Shatta Wale; “He spontaneous on the beat. He can put three words together and it becomes a hit.”
Stonebwoy; “He is very thoughtful and he puts out good, quality music. He is able to personify his music, he puts his feelings into each music.”
Sarkodie; “He is the way and he’s taking Ghana music internationally.”
Ebony: “She was different and we love different, we didn’t understand her but we loved her.”
Joe Mettle; “ He shows that gospel music can be appealing to people who are not even Christians.”
“Ebony deserved to win the artiste of the year because she really worked hard, I think everyone in the category of the Best Artist of the year deserves it, they all worked hard to earn their place in that category“ this she said when she was asked if the Late afro-pop Dancehall artist Ebony deserved to win the artist of the year.
