Wilson Arthur, Chairman of the MTN FA Cup, has disclosed the prize money for this year’s champion and runner-up in the finals of the Competition between Dreams FC and King Faisal on Sunday, June 18.

The winner will receive GHC 80,000, with the runner-up receiving GHC 30,000 for making it to the competition’s finals.

According to the Chairman, the victor who automatically qualifies to represent Ghana in next year’s CAF Confederations Cup will receive an additional GHC 100,000.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Happy FM, Mr. Arthur outlined preparations put in place for a successful final come Sunday.

“I’m already in Kumasi to be present for the trophy tour to take place tomorrow just to create more awareness for the finals coming off on Sunday. We’ve put in place the necessary preparations for the event. The Black Stars will also play Madagascar on the same day, so we’ll have a viewing center for everyone who comes to the stadium so that, right after the match, the final of the MTN FA Cup can also take place”.

The final will be played between Dreams FC and King Faisal, who unfortunately got relegated at the end of the Ghana Premier League season.

The Still Believe lads won the FA Cup semi-final against Division One side Skyy FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex for the first time in their history with a 2-1 victory.

King Faisal FC on the other hand advanced to the final with a 3-2 victory over Nsoatreman FC in the semifinals at the same venue.

The final which will be held at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex will kick off at exactly 3 pm.
