The senior national football team, the Black Stars of Ghana will begin training today, Monday October 4, ahead of their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe.
Coach Milovan Rajevac will officially begin his duties as Black Stars coach since his appointment two weeks ago when the team assemble at the La Mac Dan Park to train.
Rajevac announced a 32-man provisional squad to begin preparations for the doubleheader.
Some of the players invited arrived in the country on Sunday night whilst the others are expected to join the team’s camp by close of the day.
Following a slow start to the World Cup qualifiers, Milovan Rajevac is expected to pick all the six points against Zimbabwe in this doubleheader.
Ghana picked three points out of a possible six after beating Ethiopia and losing to South Africa.
The Serbian coach has been tasked to qualify the team to the 2022 World Cup and promised a $300,000 package should he complete the task.
The return of Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus will also be a boost for the Black Stars as the two influential players missed the start of the qualifiers due to injury.
Ghana sits second on the table with three points after losing to South Africa in the second group game.
The game comes off at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Saturday 9 October, 2021 with the reverse fixture to be played on 12 October, 2021.
