Real Tamale United (RTU) secured their second consecutive victory over Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium. The match ended with a scoreline of 3-1 in favor of RTU.

The action-packed game kicked off with Baba Kushibu capitalizing on a defensive error, opening the scoring for the visiting team. Moments later, Mohammed Alhassan extended RTU’s lead, exploiting a similar mistake by the home team.

Accra Lions didn’t give up easily and managed to pull one goal back after the break, thanks to Abdul Rahman Ali’s header from Remember Boateng’s corner. However, RTU swiftly reestablished their two-goal advantage when Abdul Aziz capitalized on a blunder by Daniel Afful, sealing the victory for the visiting team.

RTU’s domination began early in the game as they pressured the hosts and capitalized on defensive lapses. Kushibu intercepted a wayward back pass from Ali Mohammed, finding the net just 15 minutes into the match. Alhassan struck again, benefitting from Afful’s clearance that inadvertently hit him, doubling RTU’s lead.

Although Accra Lions displayed determination in the second half, their efforts were met with resistance from the RTU defense. A turning point came when goalkeeper Daniel Afful failed to secure Mohammed Alhassan’s free-kick, allowing Abdul Aziz to pounce and restore RTU’s two-goal lead.

With a strong defensive effort, RTU held on to claim all three points at the Accra Sports Stadium, leaving Accra Lions with much to contemplate.
