Former Asante Kotoko coach Frimpong Manso has highlighted the need for Ghana’s Black Meteors to improve their defense when they come up against Guinea in a must-win fixture today.
Ghana began the tournament with a nervy win against Congo before experiencing a major setback in their hopes of proceeding from the group stage due to a 5-1 defeat against Morocco.
The team must now beat Guinea at all cost to proceed to the next stage of the tournament.
Speaking about the Black Meteors’ ‘Do or Die’ matchup against Guinea today on Happy FM, Coach Frimpong Manso expressed worry over the team’s poor defensive structure.
“In two games, the Black Meteors have conceded seven goals which mean defensively the team has been poor. If we can take measures to improve the entire team’s defense as a unit, then the team can think of scoring goals. If the team manages to get a goal and defend well, then they are good to go. The team also needs to limit mistakes at the back and be organized”.
Ghana must win against Guinea to keep their hope of qualifying for the next Olympic Games alive.
The match kicks off at 20:00GMT on Friday at the Grand Stade Tanger.
