Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has announced that the 2024 WASSCE results will be released by WAEC on December 29.

This decision is intended to allow additional time for the marking process while enabling WAEC to manage its financial resources more efficiently.

During a media briefing on December 24, Dr. Adutwum expressed confidence in the measures taken to uphold the integrity of the examination process. He noted that WAEC staff are working through the holidays to meet the deadline, with approximately 50% of the objective marking already completed.

This he noted aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure smooth operations within the education sector and also expected to ease financial pressures on WAEC, allowing the council to focus on marking and compiling results.

The Ministry of Education recently provided an additional GH₵25 million to WAEC to enhance its operational budget and improve efficiency. The results are on track to be ready by the target date, with a provisional release anticipated on December 28 or 29, 2024, ahead of the final publication.
