A 21-year-old man identified as Kwadwo Asomani has allegedly died by suicide at Amanfrom, a suburb of Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.

According to reports, Asomani was found dead in his room on Friday, October 24, 2025, with a nylon rope tied around his neck.

Residents who discovered the body quickly alerted the police, who later arrived at the scene to commence investigations.

Community members described the deceased as calm, respectful, and well-mannered, adding that he had recently shown signs of unusual behaviour before the tragedy occurred.

“He had been talking to himself and acting strangely for some days, but no one thought it would end like this,” a resident told reporters.

The Nkawkaw Police have since launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to the incident, including what might have triggered the young man’s decision.

Meanwhile, the body has reportedly been deposited at the Nkawkaw Government Hospital morgue for autopsy and preservation as investigations continue.
