The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to revitalizing the agribusiness sector through inclusive and sustainable industrial strategies, anchored on the 24-hour economy initiative.

Addressing participants at the National Agribusiness Dialogue on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Kempinski Hotel, Accra held under the theme “Resetting Agribusiness for Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Growth,” Madam Ofosu-Adjare highlighted the new policy direction as a pivotal opportunity to scale up productivity and enhance value addition across the agricultural value chain.

She noted that implementing round-the-clock operations, especially in areas such as agro-processing, logistics, storage, and distribution would significantly improve efficiency, reduce post-harvest losses, and ensure consistent value creation.

The Minister explained that these interventions form part of a broader national plan to modernize the agricultural sector and integrate smallholder farmers, agripreneurs, and SMEs into a resilient, globally competitive economy.

Reinforcing the government’s industrial vision, Madam Ofosu-Adjare said it is anchored on purpose, inclusivity, and sustainability.

She urged stakeholders within the agribusiness space to actively engage in the dialogue and offer constructive contributions toward achieving the sector’s transformation goals.
