Kumasi draught champion, Abu National has emerged as the 2016 Damehene organised by Happy FM, your number one sports station,  after rallying from behind to beat favourite, George Afrifa popularly known as Kickway in a fiercely fought final.
Abu National, who went down by two games initially, bounced back to beat Kickway by three games to two amidst rapturous response from the crowd who had bought into the antics of the the eventual winner.
Abu National, who is amazingly only 20 years old, expressed his elation after that remarkable feat which prior to the final, looked insurmountable.

“I am really excited about this feat. In fact I was quite confident I could upstage Kickway even though he has beaten me several times in other championships. I told you before the game that I was going to break that jinx and I’m happy I was able to achieve it.” Abu National told HappyGhana.com.

Kickway, who gracefully accepted defeat, praised Abu National for putting up a great fight though he put his defeat to loss of concentration.
“I lost concentration after he won his first game because I thought it was a game I could have have won easily but it’s part of the game. I congratulate Abu National. I said before the game that it was going to be a keen contest and at the end, it really was. I know I will definitely bounce back.” Kickway told HappyGhana.com.
Abu National became Ashanti Regional champion at age 16 while Kickway is two-time Ghana Champion.
Last year’s winner, Theophilus Quaye, popularly known as Nii Aryee settled for third place.
