
The Communications Director for Legon Cities, Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang has confirmed to Happy Sports that Bashiru Hayford has been appointed as the new head coach of the team.
The experienced gaffer takes over from Bosnia trainer Goran Barjaktarevic who was sacked by the club following their 3-0 defeat to Olympics in match day two of the Ghana Premier League.
The former Asante Kotoko coach will take charge of the club for the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
Confirming the appointment of the coach on Wamputu Sports with Odiasempa Kwame Oware on Happy 98.9FM, he said, “Yes we have appointed Bashiru Hayford has our new coach until the end of the season”.
“He believes in our project and I am sure that is why he accepted to be our coach until the end of the season. With the current crop of players, we have he can help us reach our target”.
He stated that Bashiru Hayford will take charge of the team in their match day four game against Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams, Dawu.
“Our assistant coach will be in charge of our game against Medeama before Bashiru Hayford takes over for the subsequent matches”.
Legon Ciites are still without a win in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.
