FC Salitas player Nertey Polo says his side is determined to eliminate AshantiGold SC from the CAF Confederation Cup in the second leg.

The Burkinabe side held the Miners to a goalless draw at the Len Clay Sports Stadium on Sunday in the first leg of the preliminary round.

Speaking in an interview on Happy Sports with Ohene-Bampoe Brenya, Nertey Polo said the team had targeted to secure early qualification in the first leg here in Ghana.

“Even before we left Burkina Faso, our target was to qualify in the first leg, so wanted to get a good result here in Ghana before the second leg”.

“We are not worried about the results in the first leg . AshGold has a good team but we are going to beat them and qualify to the next round”

Halifax Sadago, a former player of Asante Kotoko who currently plays for Salitas told Happy Sports that the AshGold side he played against four seasons ago were stronger than the current team his side faced in last Sunday’s game.

“The AshGold team that I played against four years ago was better than the one we played against on Sunday. We could have won the match but the pitch was not good that is why it was difficult for us to win the game, but we tried our best”.

The two players are confident their side can clinch a win in the second leg and secure qualification to the next round.

The second leg comes off on Sunday 6 December, 2020 in Ouagadougou.
