National Democratic Congress 3-day retreat ends in Ho

NDC writes to EC demanding refund of filing fees

Jacob Osei Yeboah (JOY) who contested in the 2012 and 2016 Presidential race as an independent candidate and as a running mate in the 2020 general elections has called on political actors not to mock the aggrieved National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He believes the opposition party must be treated with respect and not agitated further as they contest the results of the 2020 polls.

“Political actors must stop screaming at the NDC to go to court, making them angry. The party is already licking its wounds from the defeat in the election and should be dealt with using patience”.

Jacob made this known in an interview with Happy 98.9 FM’s Sefah-Danquah on the Epa Hoa Daben political talk show.

“We should look at and respect the NDC and Mahama as they dispute the election results. We need to understand them and not drag them whilst we wait patiently for them to take their evidence to court”, he added.

The politician advised the NDC to go about their demonstrations as it is their democratic right, “The NDC must however understand that democracy is not about violence and must go about their demonstrations in peace”.

According JOY, If the NPP had set the precedence by petitioning the 2012 election in peace, then the NDC can do same.

He advised the NDC to seek redress in the court if their claims of election rigging were true.

“The EC was very efficient in their work but the NDC can still petition the court and we would all heed to the response of the court. The NDC should present its evidence to the court so there is peace in the country. I know the justices will be fair if the case gets before them”, he indicated.

The National Democratic Congress has contested the results of the 2020 general elections describing it as flawed.

The party and its supporters have engaged in a number of demonstrations across the country registering their displeasure and calling for an independent audit of the election results.
