Happyghana.com can confirm that three substantive ministers who served under the President Akufo-Addo government until January 7th 2021 will no longer be part of the new government.

According to our source, former Minister for Works and Housing Samuel Atta Akyea, former Minister of Youth and Sports Isaac Kwame Asiamah, and the former minister of Railways Development Joe Ghartey will not serve as ministers in President Akufo-Addo’s second term.

The number of ministers, deputy ministers and regional ministers yet to be appointed will not exceed 85.

Our intel also indicates that the following personalities have been appointed to serve in President Nana Addo’s new government.

Ministry of Youth and Sports Mustapha Yussif
Ministry of Works and Housing Francis Asenso-Boakye
Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources Abu Jinapor
Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Dan Botwe
Ministry of Energy and Petroleum Mathew Opoku Prempeh (Napo),
Ministry of Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah
Ministry of Communication Ursula Owusu
Ministry for Education Yaw Osei Adutwum
Railway Ministry John Peter Amewu
Ministry of Health Kwaku Agyeman Manu

Trade, Roads and Foreign Affairs no change.

President Akufo-Addo yesterday announced his administrative staff and other key appointees to help him continue his agenda and mandate for the next four years.

A release from the Presidency, shows acting Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare retaining her position alongside Nana Bediatuo Asante who was the Secretary to the President during his first term in office.

Again, Eugene Kofi Bentum Arhin remains the Director of Communications while Brigadier-General Emmanuel Okyere stays as National Security Advisor.

The statement also revealed that Saratu Atta will stay as the Personal Assistant to the President while Lord Commey continues in his former role as Director of Operations.

Madam Mercy Debrah-Karikari also retains her position as Secretary to the Cabinet.

Dr. Isaac Owusu-Mensah has been appointed as Director of Research. This position was previously occupied by Victor Newman, until his demise.
Mr. Emmanuel Adumua-Bossman and Fawaz Aliu have also been appointed as Deputy Chiefs of Staff to replace Samuel Abu Jinapor and Francis Asenso-Boakye who both were recently elected Members of Parliament.

Other appointees are Kow Essuman who has been appointed Legal Counsel to the President, Michael Ofori-Atta who is the Director for ECOWAS and Regional Integration, and Sam Ellis, who is now the Director of Personnel.
