The heavy downpour accompanied by a powerful windstorm has caused havoc at the Prampram Polyclinic as some properties have been damaged.

The heavy downpour which occurred at about 8 pm on Monday, March 22, lasted for nearly two hours flooding the maternity and female ward in the process.

The windstorm also ripped off the roofing of the Out Patient Department ( OPD), Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) and the medical laboratory.

Speaking on the Happy morning Show, correspondent at the Prampram Polyclinic, Mr Slyvanus Boafor says that, ” some our documents were destroyed . The water spoiled our documents that were in the offices, the mental health unit, the training unit and the IMCI unit”.

He further stated that patients whose conditions were manageable were asked to return home as the current situation at the time was not conducive for work to continue. Patients in fragile states were retained and attended to.

“We were able to give them some psychological support and some who understood the situation agreed to go home and return this morning. But those who cannot go, we retained them and took care of them.”

He however noted that despite the heavy downpour damaging properties, no casualties were recorded.
