The Ghana Football Association president, Kurt Okraku, has commended Happy 98.9FM’s initiative on the RespectThe Referee campaign ahead of the big launch on Tuesday 20 April 2021.
The RespectTheReferee program is an educational and advocacy campaign to educate the fans and public on the laws of the game.
The 2020/21 football season has witnessed some violence and hooliganism at some venues due to misinterpretation of the laws of the game. The rights of referees have been violated by sports fans irrespective of laid down procedures for redress.
Referees have been beaten, injured, and humiliated as a result of the misinterpretation of the laws of the game.
Kurt Okraku reacted to a post on Facebook on the upcoming launch and has commended Ghana’s number One Sports Station Happy 98.8FM for the initiative.

The program is set to commence on 20th April 2021 until the end of the season.
