In an interview with Sammy Eshun on the Happy Morning Show,(#HappyHMS) Dr. Amponsa-Achiano stated that,“We are focusing on persons who took the first jab between 1st and 9th March. That should be around the 11th and 12th week.”

According to him, research from the United Kingdom revealed that the second jab of the AstraZeneca vaccine is best administered twelve weeks after the first jab, a measure which has been adopted by the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

He also mentioned that bio data of qualified persons for the second jab will not be taken because those details were taken during the first jab and have been saved on their data base.

“We are now working with dates. We encourage individuals to come along with the cards that were given to them during the first jab. It is not a problem if they misplaced their cards or are unable to recollect the date they took their first jabs. We saved their personal information and health records onto our database.”
