Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Brong Ahafo United Major Kwame Baah has labeled Referee Maxwell Hanson as an armed robber.

The Tema based referee was assigned to handle the division one league game between Brong Ahafo United and Real Tamale United at the Sunyani Coronation park which ended abruptly due to invasion of the pitch by angry fans for a penalty decision by the knight of the whistle.

This has become a focal point for discourse in recent times, as a result of which B.A united has suffered a ban for the use of their home turf.

The CEO in reaction to this said, Referee Maxwell Hanson is an armed robber who came to Sunyani to Rob them of their all time investment.

“He is an armed robber. He is an armed robber. Maxwell Hanson is an armed robber. I am telling you. Because what he did he wanted people to die. He wanted people to die in Ghana here”. Major Bash told Odiasempa on Wamputu sports on Happy FM

“See, after May 9th disaster that 126 people died, should a referee do this?”, he quizzed.

“He’s an armed robber in the sense that, if he had applied the rules of the game when he came to Sunyani and officiated the match peacefully, we all would have left the venue to our homes”, he added

Major cautioned the referees to do the right thing so as to prevent the act of hooliganism in our beautiful game of football.
