Ghana’s favorite radio station, Happy98.9FM, has made a donation of several boxes and bags of cooking essentials to the office of the National Chief Imam as part of the station’s participation in the Salah festivities.

Sponsored by Tasty Tom and Wilmar Africa Ltd, producers of Fortune rice and Frytol, Happy FM donated boxes of Frytol cooking oil and Frytol seasoning cubes as well as bags of rice to the Chief Imam to support the Islamic community in the Salah celebration.

Director of GMABC, Timothy Karikari, presented the items on behalf of the whole team and promised the Chief Imam of a bigger return next year and the years to come. “Muslims and Christians are one big family, hence, we could not watch our brothers and sisters celebrate this festive period alone without joining in to celebrate and support. As we cannot visit the royal house empty-handed, we are here today with these bags of Fortune rice and boxes of Frytol among other things to show how much we appreciate and care about our Muslim communities”, he said.

Timothy also thanked the Chief Imam for opening his arms to the team and giving his blessing for a successful outcome of the Salah Food Fest cooking competition.

His Eminence Sheikh Nuhu Sharabutu received the gift items in smiles and showered his blessings upon all the representatives from Happy FM, Wilmar and Tasty Tom. He asked Allah for unending luck and success upon them and prayed that every penny they spent is replenished in folds.
The Chief Imam expressed his immense gratitude to Happy FM for the donation, ensuring that: “Allah shall reward the company for this kind gesture and give them all the support and peace they need”.

Happy98.9FM’s Salah Food Fest cooking competition came off on the 24th of July, 2021 at the Fadama taxi station opposite the residence of the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Nuhu Sharabutu. After a tough competition between ten zongo communities who showcased their cooking skills with ten different dishes, Kasoa Zongo, with their delicious waakye and shinkafa, pushed the reigning champions of Fadama Zongo into second place as they occupied the first.
