Ghana Premier League Champions progressed to the next stage of the CAF Champions League preliminary round following a 2-0 win over Guinean side CI Kamsar on Sunday.

Two late goals from Kofi Kordzi and Abdul Salim ensured The Phobians defeated Guinean side CI Kamsar 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium to set up a clash with Wydad AC of Morocco in the second preliminary round.

It was a difficult afternoon for the Ghana Premier League champions as they faced a tough opposition from the Guinean side.

The first half ended goalless with the two teams failing to put the ball at the back of the net.

Hearts Coach Samuel Boadu made changes to his squad in the second half with the Phobians dominating play from the blast of the whistle.

Kofi Kordzi who made a return to the club after a short stint with Qatari Al Muntair scored from a free-kick to break the deadlock for the Phobians in the 84th minute.

New signing Salim Adams increased the lead for the Phobians late in injury time to secure a convincing win for the Ghanaian side.

Coach Samuel Boadu records his first-ever win in the CAF Inter-club competition as manager of the side.

Hearts of Oak face Wydad AC in the second preliminary round next month.
