Reports reaching Happy98.9FM/e.TV Ghana indicates that a 28-year-old pregnant woman, Josephine Panyin Simons who was found after going missing some weeks back in Takoradi, has reportedly lost her speech.

HappyFM/e.TVGhana’s Western Regional correspondent, Akosua Gyabaa who is also a close friend of Josephine’s twin, noted that after her return home, she has been unable to say a word to anyone and only communicates through writing.

“Ever since Josephine returned home, she has been unable to speak. I believe it is because she is suffering from a trauma. She only writes if she wants to say something,” Akosua revealed.

According to Akosua, Josephine was released by her kidnappers who reportedly claim she was not fit to be used for their purposes. “They released her because they couldn’t use her for the intended purpose. After her release, it took a few days for her to reach civility. The first people she encountered thought she was mad but upon interrogations, she wrote all that happened to her.”

Giving the account on the Happy Morning Show hosted by Samuel Eshun, and aired on Happy98.9FM and e.TV Ghana, Akosua Gyabaa noted the Ghana Police Service is still carrying out investigations into the matter and hope to resolve it soon.

With cases of kidnapping being on the rise in the country, Akosua indicates that the cases amongst pregnant women in the region are low with a high number of children being kidnapped.

Josephine Panyin Simons, reportedly went missing after going for a routine dawn walk on Thursday, September 16, 2021.

Her husband, Paul Simons reported the incident to the police and later said the mother had received a phone call from a suspected kidnapper demanding a ransom.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the woman has given birth and the baby has been taken away.
