Thomas Partey, Andre Ayew and Mohammed scored to give the Black Stars an important win against Zimbabwe in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

It was a spirited performance from Coach Milovan Rajevac’s team in this matchday three game of the 2022 World Cup qualifier.

South Africa had picked a win far away in Addis Ababa against Ethiopia to go top of the table with seven points hence the Black Stars needed to win to keep the chase on the Bafana Bafana.

Mohammed Kudus scored on his injury return for the Black Stars with the first goal of the game in the opening minutes.

The Warriors got the equalizer in the second half through Captain Knowledge Musonda from the penalty spot after Alexander Djiku has fouled the Zimbabwean attacker in the box.

Thomas Partey restored the lead for the Stars with a nice strike.

Andre Ayew continued with his impressive form at club level and scored the third goal of the game to seal the win for the Black Stars.

Ghana go second on the table with six points after this win.

South Africa leads the pack with seven points, whilst Ethiopia has three points and Zimbabwe have one point.
