The management of Happy98.9FM has opened a book of condolence to celebrate the life of one of its longest-serving staff and Programs Manager, Mr. Emmanuel Akrumah, known in media circles as Archives.

The book of condolence which was set up on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the premises of Happy98.9FM at Asylum Down, is expected to see many who experienced, worked with and admired Archives from both afar and near to sign and put their well wishes and tributes in writing.

The Senior Management Team of Happy98.9FM and its mother company, Global Media Alliance (GMA) has taken the lead in signing their names and commiserating with the family of the late Archives. Present at the ceremony were the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Edwin Amankwah, Director of Accounts, Austin Ampim, Bernice Boateng representing the Human Resource Department, Head of Sports, Odiasempa Kwame Oware amongst others.

Director for Broadcasting at Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC), Timothy Karikari speaking at an event to officially open the book of condolence to the public noted, “Archives, as he was popularly called, was an epitome of diligence and dedication. He had been with the HappyFM brand for a long time and it is really heartbreaking to have lost him. As a brand, we pledge to work with the family to ensure the funeral arrangements are carried out smoothly. We share our condolences with the family and pray them the Lord’s strength in this period.”

Friends, colleagues and sympathizers can visit the premises of Happy98.9FM to sign the book of condolence opened in memory of Archives. With the COVID-19 pandemic still in our backyard, sympathizers are entreated to regard the COVID-19 safety protocols and respect security personnel as they are taken through the safety process.

The sudden passing of Emmanuel Akrumah happened on Saturday, October 23, 2021, after he suffered a short illness. The dedicated and experienced media professional who was celebrated and highly regarded by his peers was Programs Manager of Happy98.9FM until his passing.

A great tree in the Ghanaian media fraternity has fallen but his legacy will be carried on by the many who passed through his tutelage.

Forever in our hearts
