Where Are They?: Ghanaian players need to be disciplined – Ex-Ghanaian player

Former Berekum Chelsea captain, Kofi Sammy Lomotey, advised Ghanaian players to be disciplined on and off the pitch.

He urged players playing on the local and international scenes to be time conscious in order to have a successful career, as he disclosed his shortfalls during his professional days.

On the #wherearethey session on the Happy Sports show, Kofi Sammy Lomotey told Odiasempa Kwame Oware, “I would advise all Ghanaian players to be disciplined in all aspects of their footballing careers. They should be judicious with their time, knowing when to train and when to rest. Getting enough rest as a footballer is very helpful along the journey.”

He further cautioned players to refuse jabs that allow them to heal before time as he says they could affect them later in their old age.

“When you’re very instrumental in a team and unfortunately get injured, don’t be forced to take any jab to speed up the recovery. They’re are risky and could end up affecting other parts of your body in your old days,” he added.

The former Ghanaian player also counseled players to avoid the habit of chasing women and focus primarily on their careers. If possible they should stick to a woman.

He argued most of these ladies come after them because of the fame and money associated with footballers and will leave them with nothing to take home.

Kofi Sammy Lomotey played for several local clubs including the likes of Asante Kotoko, Accra Great Olympics, Berekum Chelsea, and Berekum Arsenal during their days in the elite league.
