Family, friends and staff of Global Media Alliance have bid farewell to their father, brother and colleague, Emmaunuel Akrumah whose burial service occurred on Saturday, 11th December, 2021.

Emmanuel Akrumah, who died on Saturday, October 23, 2021 after suffering a short illness had his final funeral rites performed at Awudu Issaka Park, Tema Community 20 after which he was finally laid to rest in his hometown, Tafimador (Volta Region).

It was a solemn moment at the funeral grounds when family, friends and colleagues paid their last respect to the gallant warrior. Their words undoubtedly revealed how much they will miss their dear friend and father.

Wife of the late Mr. Akrumah, Thelma Akrumah, paying tribute to her late husband expressed that he was one “whose life was pleasant to everybody.”

“Thank you for the training you gave Priscilla, Pearl and I to face this cruel world by ourselves. We promise your legacy will not be gone with you. We will do our best to accomplish the rest of your dreams which we don’t know yet but waiting for you to reveal it to us in our dreams,” she added.

For the children, who’s “Superman” is no longer with them, they still keep with them the valuable lessons their loving father handed to them. In their words, “Though you [Akrumah] are not here, we will still love you the way we do. We are grateful for the hard trainings to face easy battles. We are grateful we got to experience you not just as a father but a friend, role model, mentor, and teacher. Thank you for showing us the good path. Thank you for teaching us to work hard to attain perfection. Above all thank you for believing in us. We will not fail you. Rest well daddy!”

While his siblings were saddened that they had lost a “pillar on which we all leaned on in moments of despair”, they expressed gratitude that the almighty had given them the opportunity to share their time with him on this earth.

The Global Media Alliance Group led by its chairman, Ambassador Edward Boateng was also not left out in pouring out their heartfelt tribute to one of their treasured staff who has now left them to be in the bosom of the almighty.

Amb. Edward described Emmanuel Akrumah as a “star player.” “The death of Archives is a tough one to take in. I struggle to understand why he had to go so soon. A man of many talents but few words – the kind of man our nation so much needs. He embodied hard work, dedication and diligence of purpose.”

The well-attended funeral saw the family, management and staff of Global Media Alliance Group (Happy98.9FM, e.TV Ghana and YFM), celebrities, old school mates and friends paying their respects to the late Emmanuel Akrumah.

Archives rose through the ranks, starting from Productions Manager to Programmes Manager and finally, General Manager for the brand, a position he held till his sad demise.
