31st December: Bishop Kisseih speaks on how false prophecies affect the nation

Presiding Bishop of Life International Church, Bishop Dr. Gordon Kisseih has revealed that false prophecies bring about deception, fear and panic and insecurity in the country.

He explains that mostly these false prophecies cause people to be paranoid because of the nature of these prophecies.

The Bishop further noted that in biblical times, prophecies were declared to allow persons repent from their ways and seek God’s favour. Thus, it was highly possibly that the prophecy will not come to pass if the person repented from his ways.

In contrast, he noted that the modern-day prophecies are packaged in such a way that those involved in these prophecies have no hope.

In an interview with Isaac Kwaku Kpogeh on the special Christmas edition of the Happy Morning Show, Bishop Kisseihexplained that “It is just like a lion roaring at its prey; causing the prey not to move. So, prophecies have impact on us consciously or unconsciously and therefore, everyone who is out to give a prophetic word must be mindful of that”.

Meanwhile, Bishop Kisseih also has cautioned Ghanaians to be wary of false prophets during this time as he believes any prophecy inconsistent with the Bible should be regarded as false.

The police has cautioned the general public especially religious leaders over doomed prophecies on 31st Night.

“We want to caution that under Ghanaian law, it is a crime for a person to publish or reproduce a statement, rumour or report which is likely to cause fear and alarm to
the public or to disturb the public peace, where that person has no evidence to prove that the statement, rumour or report is true,” part of the statement by the Police read.

While some religious leaders such as Osofo Kyiriabosom have welcomed the directive, others such as Nigel Gaisie and Salifu Amoako have condemned the directive.
