Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and fellow countryman, Mario Lemina train with Gabon for the first time since arriving in Cameroon for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)

They both tested positive for COVID-19 in controversial fashion when the Gabonese team arrived at Yaoundé and have been isolated from the team. Therefore missed out on their opening game against Comoros.

However, Gabon managed to secure maximum three points in their 1:0 victory over Comoros, courtesy an early lead from Aaron-Salem Boupendza at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaounde

Both Lemina and Aunameyang have been pictured with the Panthers in training after they returned negative test for COVID-19. They would be in contention for selection in their second group game against the Black Stars of Ghana.
The Panthers will tackle the Black Stars on Friday 14 January 2022 at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo.
