Yuisf Alhassan Chibsah, the Head of Player Relations at the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), has advised footballers to stay away from betting.

According to him, players are not supposed to engage in sports betting per the contracts they sign with their clubs.

Speaking in an interview on Happy Sports, the former Ghana international said betting is a big problem which must be tackled by all stakeholders.

“When it comes to betting and you can’t rely on rumors unless facts”, he told Ohene-Bampoe Brenya.

“We all know what is happening, the Inter Allies and Ashantigold betting issue. We have spoken to some of the players and others.

“We as PFAG continue to advise the players that any contract they signed there is a clause that prevents them from engaging in sports betting and match manipulation. If they allow people to deceive them it is their career they are jeopardizing. They should be careful and stay away from betting”, he added.

The Ghana Football Association is still investing the betting scandal which rocked the Ghana Premier League last season involving Ashantigold SC and Inter Allies.

The GFA is yet to release it verdict on the matter.
