Ghana‘s Black Princesses have been handed a tough draw for this year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
Ghana was named in Group D and will face Japan, Netherlands and the USA.
The United States have won the trophy three times, making them the most successful country, while Japan are the current holders, having won the last edition in 2018.
The Black Princesses must be at their best to advance to the next stage of the competition.
Ghana will be making their sixth appearance, and they have failed to advance past the group stage in the previous five.
Nigeria, the other African team to qualify for the tournament, were also placed in a difficult group with France, Canada, and the Republic of Korea.
Ghana qualified after impressing in the qualifiers, overcoming Zambia, Uganda and Ethiopia to secure a sixth consecutive World Cup appearance.
The tournament will end on August 20.
