The Managing Director of SIC Life Savings and Loans Company, Hon. Amma Frimpomaa, donated Sanitary pads to the Sunyani West Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service.

This donation was part of the activities to commemorate World Menstrual day.

She indicated that her experience as a teacher in all levels of our educational system, from primary to tertiary, gave her a fair idea of how natural occurrences such as menstruation limit females in their quest to acquire education, and stressed that it is not a crime to menstrate therefore no female should miss a day in school, and be isolated and stigmatized because she is menstruating and can’t afford a sanitary pad.

She also appealed to Teachers,Parents government, civil society organizations, religious and traditional leaders, NGOs and parents to come together to help educate Girls on how to take their menstrual hygiene seriously and also give them the necessary counseling.

The items were received by the Municipal Director of education and the District Girl Child coordinator.
In expressing their appreciation, the Municipal Director of Education thanked Hon. Amma Frimpomaa for her donation and her commitment toward Girl child development.
