Isaac Oppong scored in stoppage time to secure a 1-0 win for Asante Kotoko in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round against Burkinabe club RC Kadiogo.

The game was played at the the General Kerekou Stadium in Cotonou, Benin on Monday evening.

The Porcupine Warriors dominated the game in both halves and came close to scoring in the first half through George Mfuege.

The Cameroonian international saw his effort in the 18th minute miss the post by inches.

The first half ended in a draw after both sides failed to find the back of the net.

The game continued in the second half with much intensity from the two clubs.

Isaac Oppong scored the match winner in added time to give Asante Kotoko a big advantage going into the second leg.

Asante Kotoko coach Seydou Zerbo gets his first win as head coach of the club in a competitive game.

Asante Kotoko will host RC Kadiogo in the second leg at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday September 18,2022.

The Ghana Premier League champions are expected to arrive in Ghana on Tuesday.
