Aspiring General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey has labeled the Minister for Finance, Hon. Ken Ofori Atta as a man without honour.

According to him, individuals and leaders who put their self-interest first ahead of the interest of the country cannot be described as honourable.

In an interview with Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show, Fiifi Kwetey asserted that Ken Ofori-Atta is utterly concerned about his individual prosperity than the development of Ghana and hence cannot be described as honourable.

“I don’t think he’s an honourable man and for me, anybody who puts himself before his own country is not honourable. Anybody for example whose business continues to prosper while we continue to accumulate large depths that has triangulated into causing the hardship of the people then that person has got no honour,” he shared.

The Former Ketu South MP further noted, “People did hear Ken Ofori Atta come out in an interview to speak about the fact that there needs to be a review on free SHS. Before that interview, He came before the Finance committee of Parliament two weeks before the interview and when he came, I asked him whether it was fair for the government if Ghana to continue using the taxes of people to pay your child’s fee and my child’s fees when you know you and I can actually pay for our children and positively pay for more. In that he admitted that there’s a need for a certain look at the policy. Then the interview happened and people started praising him when ideally the engagement started from us and we in the NDC.”
