Former Eleven Wonders Coach, Yaw Acheampong, says the technical team of the Black Stars should be given credit for being able to convince some players to switch nationality ahead of the World Cup.

Sharing his thoughts on the Technical point of view with regards to the performance of the Black Stars in their last seven games on Happy FM’s Happy Sports Dialogue, the former Black Stars player and Gaffer of the Techiman- based side said ,

“I’m not worried of the performance of the team in their recent games.
“Our only target before this technical team was to just be at the World Cup.

“We didn’t really take into consideration the number of matches or wins the team has had.

“In our preparation to World Cup, we could see many players were added and removed from the Squad, others were also naturalized which clearly shows that the Technical Team is working very hard and doing everything possible to have a formidable team”. He told Ohene Bampoe Brenya.

He also affirmed that he believes this current Black Stars Team can take us far in the World Cup.

The four-time Africa champions come up against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in Group H.

Ghana will play its first game against Portugal on November 24, 2022.

The 2022 World Cup tournament kicks off on November 20,2022 and will be live on e.TV Ghana and Happy 98.9FM.
