Speaking in an interview on Happy FM,Professor Twumasi said,“The death of Pele saddened the entire country and even the world as a whole because looking at the kind of legacy he lived, he made football popular sport and he has to be honored.Pele served as a motivation to other footballers talk of our own Abedi Ayew Pele, he derived his name from this legend.

“Pele is a legend of the game and has used football as a tool to unite people around the world because of his influence which can serve as a good motivation for young players who aspire to reach the pinnacle of football”.

“The request brought forth by the FIFA President for every country to name a stadium after the legend Pele is a call in the right direction”.

“It is important to note that there are procedures to follow when renaming a stadium, as we did with the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, and we intend to engage appropriate stakeholders to accomplish this, especially given the fact that there are so many unnamed new sporting facilities in the country”he added.
