A member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Communications team, Sylvester Soprano Sarpong has blamed the erstwhile Mahama administration and the current Akufo-Addo government for the arrest of Ghanaian musician and social media influencer, Mona Faiz Montrage, known as Hajia4Real.

Hajia4Real was on Monday, May 15, 2023 repatriated from the United Kingdom to the United States on allegations of fraud.

Hajia4real is facing allegations of duping older, single American men and women in a disturbing lonely hearts scam.

According to the New York Post, ‘The Badder Than’ singer appeared in Manhattan federal court on Monday.

During the court proceedings, she entered a plea of not guilty. It has been confirmed that she will be released in the coming days upon posting a $500,000 bail bond.

Soprano reacting to this in an interview on an Accra Based radio station believes if the two administrations had put the right systems, especially for the youth, people like Hajia4reall would not have been arrested.

“look at these leaders who were given everything on a silver platter; they’ve just ruined us and brought us to our knees. Look at what Hajia4reall was doing and I can tell you that is what almost every youth is doing; it’s called Yahoo Yahoo and it’s because there’s no alternative. So what has happened to Hajia4reall is a direct result of the presidency of Mahama and Akufo-Addo. I’ll put the blame at their doorstep…”

As part of her release conditions, she will be required to wear an ankle monitor with GPS tracking.

According to federal authorities, Montrage, who gained significant recognition through her widely popular Instagram page Hajia4Reall with a peak following of approximately 3.4 million users at the time, was involved in a network of fraudsters hailing from Ghana and Nigeria.

These individuals employed deceptive tactics, assuming false identities to create an illusion of romantic relationships with their victims through emails, text messages, and social media communications.
