Astro Football Academy to hold justify in May

The CEO of Astro Football Academy, Wesam Moussallem, has announced an ambitious tournament which will present young footballers with the opportunity to earn contracts with foreign clubs.
According to Madam Moussallem, Ghana abounds in football talents but many are unable to realise their dreams of becoming global superstars because they do not have access to professional agents to guide them on the path to success.
“The three-day competition will take place at the El Wak stadium and will be open to only individual players, academies and Division One clubs because the competition will be in categories such as under-14, under-18 and U-24,” Madam Moussalem said in an interview with Graphic Online.
She added that, the tournament – Astro’s Football Talent Hunt – is slated for May will be witnessed by 10 agents from countries including Lebanon, South Africa and Europe.
“We have received assurances from 10 agents currently and they will be led by the West African representative of Swedish club AFC Eskilstuna, Lawrence Clifford Poku Amankwah.
“For now we have set an admittance fee of 150GHC per player and 750GHC per team but this is because we don’t have a headline sponsor. If we manage to attract one before May, players and teams will be admitted for free”.
Madam Moussallem disclosed that her outfit expects that close to 300 players will be selected by the agents after the tournament.
“Conservatively, Astro expects between 200-300 players to be selected for this opportunity. That is how confident were are about Ghanaian football.
“We kno Ghanaian players are brilliant but some have not reached their peak because they don’t know anyone in the football Industry but Astro Football Academy is here to change that”.
Interested footballers can register for the competition by visiting the Astro Football Academy page on Facebook or contacting Madam Moussallem on 0244272829 or wesomoussallem@gmail.com.
