Chief Executive Officer of Ghanaian based indigenous health centre, Baby Kaafo , Mr. Joseph Narnor has revealed that many Ghanaians are losing their lives because many have adapted to foreign designated diseases that could have been cured by local means.

During the official launch of the Spelling G local languages competition, held at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), he noted that majority of Ghanaians in this generation are gradually losing hold of Ghanaian local languages which in turn has pushed local medication into the shadows. “Many people in Ghana do not even know that there are local cures to a lot of diseases that require surgeries and contemporary drugs.” he hinted.

The local language enthusiast encouraged Ghanaians to make a conscious effort in embracing indigenous languages so that they may be able to learn more about the nation.

Mr. Narnor added that these efforts if made, would establish an innate connection to the roots of the land and could be merged with contemporary knowledge to establish more Ghanaian manufactured medicine which shall be an avenue for revenue and genuine independence.

The Baby Kaafo Spelling G competition is a Ghanaian local languages oriented spelling competition, which is set to commence in September 2023 and will be covered across GMABC platforms (YFM, Happy FM) as official media partners. The competition promises to bring about a whole new form of learning in a fun but enlightening way.
