GFA Elective Congress: Elloeny Amande addresses losing Premier League GFA ExCo position
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Elloeny Amande, the CEO of Ghana Premier League club Karela United and a contender for a representative position on the GFA Executive Council, has expressed gratitude to all those who voted, as well as those who did not. Amande acknowledged that winning and losing are part of the game, and although he did not secure the desired number of votes, he extended his congratulations to the re-elected GFA President, Kurt Okraku, and wished all the winners well.

In an interview on Happy FM,Amande admitted that he had expected to receive more than nine votes from the delegates. He speculated that perhaps he did not effectively communicate his vision to the other delegates or that they had changed their minds.

Several notable figures, including Randy Abbey, Kwesi Appiah, and Federick Acheampong, were elected as representatives on the GFA ExCo.

However, a significant development arose as Elloeny Amande and Kingsley Osei Bonsu both received nine votes each, resulting in a tie. As a result, another elective congress will be held to determine a clear representative with Kingsley Osei Bonsu emerging victorious.

The presence of a FIFA delegation at the event highlights the significance of the election, as they closely monitored the proceedings in the Northern Regional capital.

Prior to the Executive Council members election, Kurt Okraku was re-elected as the President of the GFA, receiving an overwhelming 97.1% of the votes. Only two people voted against his retention, solidifying his position as the head of the federation.
