Ghanaian players abroad bid farewell to the October international break in spectacular fashion, with some achieving significant milestones in their respective leagues.

In the English Premier League, Mohammed Kudus left a lasting impression by scoring his maiden goal for West Ham. His strike salvaged a crucial point for the Hammers in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Newcastle United. This moment marked a memorable milestone in Kudus’s career.

Across the channel in the French Ligue 1, Ernest Nuamah etched his name in Lyon’s history books. He netted his inaugural goal for the club in a thrilling 3-3 draw against formidable Lyon, demonstrating his prowess on the field.

Taking a closer look at the performances of Ghanaian players across Europe’s top seven leagues:

Premier League Round 8:

  • Thomas Partey made a triumphant return from injury, playing the final 15 minutes for Arsenal as they secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Manchester City, marking his first appearance since August.
  • Mohammed Kudus, the man of the hour, emerged as West Ham’s savior by coming off the bench in the 75th minute to score the equalizer, securing a valuable 2-2 draw against a resilient Newcastle United.
  • Striker Antoine Semenyo remained an unused substitute as Bournemouth faced a tough 3-0 defeat at the hands of Everton.
  • Jordan Ayew showcased his endurance by completing the full game for Crystal Palace, while Jeffrey Schlupp was unfortunately forced off the field after just 26 minutes due to injury in their goalless draw with Nottingham Forest.
  • Tariq Lamptey was absent from Brighton’s draw with Liverpool, nursing an injury sustained during training.

LaLiga:

  • Joseph Aidoo watched from the bench as Celta Vigo played to a 2-2 draw with Getafe.
  • Inaki Williams displayed his talents for Athletic Club, contributing to their impressive 3-0 victory over Almeria, with Baba Iddrisu putting in 82 minutes for Almeria.

German Bundesliga:

  • Patric Pfeiffer featured for 75 minutes for Augsburg, but they suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Darmstadt.
  • Moritz-Broni Kwarteng made his long-awaited debut for Bochum, coming on as a substitute in the 72nd minute as they held Leipzig to a goalless draw.
  • Jeremie Frimpong made his mark with a goal for Leverkusen in a convincing 3-0 win over Koln.

Serie A:

  • Caleb Ekuban made a late appearance, playing the final 22 minutes for Genoa in their unfortunate 1-0 home loss to AC Milan.
  • Emmanuel Gyasi entered the fray in the 81st minute for Empoli in a goalless draw against Udinese.
  • Ibrahim Sulemana was substituted for Cagliari, who suffered a 4-1 home defeat at the hands of Roma.
  • Alfred Duncan put in an 83-minute shift for Fiorentina, contributing to their 3-1 triumph over Napoli.

French Ligue 1:

  • Alidu Seidu delivered a solid performance for Clermont Foot, but his match was suspended in additional time due to crowd disturbances, with Montpellier leading 4-2. Grejohn Kyei also made a late substitute appearance.
  • Ernest Nuamah’s moment of glory arrived as he scored a sensational volley for Lyon in their 3-3 draw with Lorient.
  • Salis Abdul Samed played the full game for Lens, helping secure a 1-1 draw against Lille.

Belgium Pro League:

  • Joseph Paintsil was taken off in stoppage time as Genk held Gent to a 1-1 draw.
