Ghana Football Association prevails as court dismisses AshantiGold's claims
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

The Human Rights High Court has sided with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) by dismissing the case filed against them by AshantiGold SC. The case revolved around allegations of an unfair hearing in a match manipulation matter.

The court, after careful consideration, concluded that AshantiGold SC had indeed received a fair hearing from the GFA’s judicial bodies. The club had actively participated in the investigation and the proceedings held before the Disciplinary Committee, where they had ample opportunities to present their defense.

Additionally, the court determined that AshantiGold SC failed to demonstrate that the Match Commissioners’ Report or the Referees Report would have significantly aided their defense. As a result, it found no injustice in the non-utilization of these documents during the proceedings.

In summary, the Human Rights High Court’s ruling upholds that AshantiGold SC was accorded a fair hearing before the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee and Appeals Committee, leading to the dismissal of the club’s case.
