Minister of Tourism, Dr. Ibrahim Awal Mohammed has promised the ministry’s unwavering support to making the Lakeside Marina Park one of the most sought after parks in the country.

He made this known at the outdooring of the 20 year vision of Lakeside Marina Park.

The Minister appreciated the park’s investment and contributions to the tourism sector, promising to support the vision of the park. ”Let me assure you that my ministry will partner you to make this place a very important location for Ghanaians.”

According to the minister, his office will partner with Lakeside Marina Park in terms of financial support and strategy. “The next years are more important and the way forward to achieve sustainable growth, create employment and contribute to making Ghana the most attractive destination in Africa. We need such partnerships to make this realization,” he stated.

He commended the recreational park for 20 years of actively staying in the tourism business. “Congratulations, in Ghana only 15% of businesses go beyond 20 years. The most important thing is the next years ahead as well as strategic plans to not only attain success but make profit and create employment.”

He appreciated Lakeside Marina Park for making the ministry a part of their journey in the tourism industry.

He described Ghana as the number one destination in West Africa for tourism, with the aim of being Africa’s best tourism destination.

To improve tourism service delivery and experience, the ministry has advanced plans to train 6,000 tourist guide in the areas of customer service and culture, as well as teaching of French and other languages to tour guides to upgrade their skills for better engagement with tourists.
