Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has held a thanksgiving service to express his gratitude to God following the outcome of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearship race, where he emerged second.

Although he did not win the presidential primaries, many in the political landscape of Ghana have said that Ken is the true hero of the election because he pulled nearly 40 percent of the votes against the “establishment candidate” Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“I want to thank God almighty and all delegates who voted for me. Although we didn’t win, let’s all come together and support the Vice President and give our opponents a showdown”.

“Let me also take this opportunity to thank the delegates in the Volta region and my own region the Central region. They have shown me so much love which I’m grateful for and I will reward them. I have a mission next year and I will start with them” he stated.

He thanked the delegates for always showing up for him. He also advised that they keep and extend the unity and support they have for him to the party.

He believes in about three, four years to come, all things being equal he will emerge president of the country.

“For my people in the central region, man shall not live by bread alone, so i assure you that we will succed and this time I am going to do it together with you. Another project is going to the central region so you should have hope. Let’s keep hope alive, let’s keep faith alive. I am talk and do when I say I’m going to do it I will do it” he assured.

The party continued with singing and dancing with a music performance from gospel singer Great Ampong.
