The Bekwai community in the Ashanti Region will come alive with a burst of colours, rhythmic beats and joyous laughter at this year’s annual homecoming festival.

The Bekwai Homecoming is a vibrant celebration that brings together indigenes and visitors from near and far, deeply rooted in a warm sense of community.

The homecoming which kicks off December 23rd to January 2nd will feature several events including a health walk and screening, carols night and Christmas lighting, Akwaaba night, kids party, football gala and a musical concert – capturing the essence of Bekwai’s cultural heritage.

“The Homecoming is not just an event; it’s a symbolic journey that reconnects us with our traditions, values, and the spirit of unity that defines Bekwai,” said Hon. Joe Osei Owusu, MP for Bekwai Constituency and 1st Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

“The Bekwai township will be transformed into a bustling atmosphere to be enjoyed by attendees.”

The Bekwai Homecoming is not only to serve as a platform for cultural expression but also to foster a sense of belonging and camaraderie among residents. Families and friends gather to celebrate, share stories, and create lasting memories, reinforcing the close-knit bonds that define the community.

The event will re-ignite and pave the way for a united and vibrant future for the Bekwai community and a proven testament to the resilience, diversity, and richness of Bekwai’s cultural heritage
