The Deputy National Youth Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Osman Ayariga, is calling on the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to investigate Dr. Kingsley Agyemang following the recent scholarship scandal involving the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat.

Mr. Ayariga’s petition is motivated by what he perceives as a troubling pattern of misconduct under the current leadership of the Scholarship Secretariat.

He is urging the OSP to undertake a thorough investigation into the actions of the Registrar and other staff members regarding the scholarship allocation process as revealed by media reports.

In his official petition submitted to the OSP on Tuesday, April 9th, Mr. Ayariga stressed the importance of promptly conducting the investigation to guarantee that scholarships are distributed fairly to deserving Ghanaian students, rather than being influenced by political affiliations or wealth.

“It has become necessary to petition your office due to the despicable magnitude of abuse the scholarship secretariat under the current leadership has exhibited.

“I am therefore by this petition calling for a full-scale investigation into the activities of the Registrar and associated staff of the secretariat regarding the award of scholarships,” parts of the statement read.

He highlighted the necessity for the OSP to promptly conduct this investigation without any delay to prevent further misuse of resources.
