Guinness World Record Drumathon attempt candidate Joseph Adu- Peprah, has shared his experience.

He mentioned that drumming is a gift from God, and he has always had passion for it.

“It’s a God given talent and although I’m not earning anything from it at the moment, I really enjoy doing it. I also play gigs at (funerals, weddings and other events to get something) but I don’t do it for the money but for the passion because it’s God given,” he said.

Speaking to Sefah-Danquah on Happy 98.9FM’s Happy Morning Show on why he attempted the drumathon, he said, “Drumming is a gift from God so I felt this was a big platform for me to showcase my talent to the world and also promote our local music.”

He stated that it wasn’t easy as he started training since December last year as part of the preparations towards the main goal, “but it was definitely worth it.”

“Before I started, I knew the injuries to expect for sitting down for 10 days or more, but I’m perfectly fine now just experiencing some leg pain and muscle pain,” he said.

Discussing what is next for him after this, his manager, Sheila who was also in the studio with him described the experience as a good one and stated that they have decided for hime to train others who want to become professional drummers.

“He has a drumming school where he has been training people from home but now, he wants to do it worldwide so that anyone who wants to learn how to play the drums can just reach us. We will be having online classes and in-house classes as well. We ’ve realized that a lot of people want to learn how to drum, but because of one thing or the other, they can’t. So, we’re here to change that narrative and tell them that anything you program your mind to do you can actually do it.”
